Consulting TV audience behaviour
The creators of the Dutch TV comedy show called 'Koefnoen' checked the Dutch 'Kijk- en Luisteronderzoek' (research information on their TV audience) and found some interesting results. They thought it would be best to do their show as a show in a theatre: starting quietly, building up the tension, making it more exciting, and in the end the most beautiful scenes. But they found out that people changed to other TV channels because of the slowness in the beginning of the show. While if you start your show with something more current and spicy and following it up with more slow scenes and you end with the more difficult texts, you will keep your audience and you will get a tidy rising line in your research data.
We, as learning designers, could have told them that, right?

Great finding - and interesting interview...
I am going to use this story again when I need to make a point in a design project. Seb.
