I had a fantastic day so far. Two, three strong feelings: We will do Wikis (rather sooner than later ), Serious Gaming is coming - probably later and I am still confused what mobile learning can do to us (but if you have a blackberry you have a good starting point).
In the morning: a fascinating session on the use of mobile devices for learning purposes. Here a few key things I want to follow up.
Gizmondo: I want to have one.
Serious Games: There are many things available already. We may just have to grab a product from the shelf.
musis.se: A Swedish project that integrates Smart Phones with Course Managements Systems (in this case FirstClass).
WearITatWork: Futuristic - but walking through a huge refinery there must be great value in this technology ...
sms-coaching: Sorry site is German only. Works like our Aweber tool but is an autorespond smsapplication. This has quick application potential.
A super project presented by a Hungarian: Short summary = Online edutainment games for thousands (!) of 12-18 years old "digital natives". Participants designed learned to search the internet, e-learning materials, investigated hungarian scientists, learned thebasics of the movie business in learning-by-doing and contributed to the Hungarian Wikipedia. Here are project summaries (couldn't open from here).

A down-to-earth gaming project for/from German mechnical engineers: SPIKO (German only)
Words, names I have to look up: augmented reality, ambient technology, George Siemens, the 00:00 Generation
Ideas that kept me thinking: Each medium has to develop its own aesthetic quality. The first movies looked like theatre shows, TV had to find formats that 'fit the screen', accordingly mobile devices will - over time - invent their own 'look'.
Miscellania: There are a number of very interesting Dutch presenters. Groningen (caveat: boring Web site), Utrecht (guy wasn't present but his research was discussed), Delft (still to come), etc. Worth a look: enginieering nuggest at Norwegian pidstop.com. Lot's of Norwegians here by the way ...
