Half Total

Guess what: a lot of organisations here have bought SumTotal: US Armee, British Armee. Next representatives of these organisation display an understanding that this all they need. I am listening to conceptual models that we overcame when Paul and Reggy brought in Betty. My fear is that with SumTotal now being rolled out across the group the pendulums swings back. Back to the conferences room. - Seb.

A reflection on my post:

With all the advantages of the new LMS being deployed across the Group there also a threat. The threat has to do with the conceptual learning model/philosphy of learning that is intrinsic to SumTotal's product.

Compard to the current Docent version this model hasn't changed in the new LMS. It is the model that made Paul Woods and Reggy look to other models that would fit the needs of the business. It's the model they saw in Betty's work. The expertise that Betty brought was not how to use TeleTOP or TeleTOP itsel but the idea that business impact is achieved by learners contributing to the solution of business problems. Hence the tailoring of our courses to buiness needs, indivudal workplaces, involving of mentor, coaches, supervisor. The tangible outcome of that philsophy/appraoch are submission-driven assessments/assignments in workplace contexts. The immediate effect of those course are 20.000+ Worplace-related submission doucmented through TeleTOP's database.
SumTotal doesn't have a submission button. But people across the Gruop maw think: hey is new, it's sum, it's total, it's everything we need!
- See the threat?
