Tim O'Reilly and Web 2.0

Tim O'Reilly comes from Cork in Ireland (which is probably why he is so smart!) He is a strong supporter of the free software and open source movements, and coined the name Web 2.0 Tim defines his company (O'Reilly Media) not as a book or online publisher, or as a conference producer (though the company does all three), but as a technology transfer company, "changing the world by spreading the knowledge of innovators."
He has also coined the term Architecture of participation to refer to the techniques and incentives that are common to successful initiatives that harness user contributions
